Mushrooms have been used for centuries, in medicines, creams and topical preparations, and even ritualistically; being rich in Polysaccharides, Minerals and Vitamins, Probiotic and Prebiotics, its easy to see why!

We’ve listed some of the main properties of our functional fungi! This is not an exhaustive or exclusive list.

~ Lions mane (Hericium erinaceus), is known for it Immunity, mood and cognition boosting properties, its an amazing morning mushroom for a Mad health kick. (*Cognition, Immunity, Mood, Memory)

~ Turkey tail (Trametes versicolor), is used for Gut health and immunity modulation, making it a great addition to food or drink anytime of day. (*Gut health, Immunity, Mood)

~Reishi (Ganoderma lucidium), can help to relax the mind, and energise the body, and this guy is perfect just before bed to aid with sleep and restorative rest. (*Energy, Immunity, Mood)

~Oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus), are huge on their effect on the microbiome! and we just love them, even if they get a little forgotten sometimes. ~Cordyceps (Cordyceps variations including: Militaris, Sinensis and Goldenthread), is the rarest in our functional mushroom range. In the wild, Cordyceps, or the “Zombie mushroom”, attaches to and takes over insects and grows off of them, using them to do its bidding and distribute its spores.

Here at Mountain Mushrooms, we grow our Cordyceps on varying substrates, including (but not limited to) BRF tek, our own specialty insect and egg mixture, and Supplemented rice with vermiculite.
